Welding Tips and Tricks

That’s right GMAW I mean GMABrazing silicon bronze with a mig machine. I’ve recently read about this process and can see a huge advantage to this way of one doesn’t own a TIG Welder (most home hobby shop guys) and had to weld some smaller pieces. Perhaps a cast iron repair that won’t be subjected to heat cycling. Or joining and dissimilar metals.

We all know how useful brazing can be, and it would be great to be able use a mig machine to do it.

Its also great for sheet metal repairs (think body work or replacing rusted auto panels). Trick is to get your heat settings right on MIG with the wire speed. Takes LOTS of tinkering. But MIG tacking with SilBr is a much faster method than using 70-s2.

Or you could use these settings to get you started.....

More fun running it with either a carbon rod on DCRP or with an O/A torch.

Where did you find this pdf? I’ve seen it before on the internet but can’t find it again. It was the full list of all metal sizes, types, gassed, and short circuit vs spray.

I know this is a old post but i mig aluminum and silicone bronze with my HTP Pro Pulse 200 it has special synergic programing and runs it smooth no issues.
