Hey, here is a Link to the weekly video about tig welding some aluminum jobs using a HTP 221 Tig unit.

http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/wel ... m-htp.html

So far, I have used it for the aluminum jobs in the video and only one other job where I filled some misdrilled holes in a chunk of 4140.

Oh, and I learned just recently that lowering the frequency to as low as 50 hz makes lots of difference when you have to weld thick aluminum with a small tig inverter. Also, used a helium/argon mix.

peace out,

Jody

Yea those latex gloves cause me to jump like a Jack Rabbit too. (I've got three years on ya)

So what was you bottom, (no pun intended), line gut feel of the HTP 221? I ask because all I have now is a cheap DC inverter 3 in 1 and have thought about learning to do Al. <read-time to upgrade machines>

THANKS for all your hard work on the videos!
