Welding Tips and Tricks

I have read a few places where guys mention that they trim some material off of there pipeliner hoods to lighten them up further. Or for other reasons. I just don't recall them saying where there cutting. What are the reasons for this? Got any pictures of modified hoods?

The only reason to trim the bottom is if it hits your neck when you light up.
Trim it to your liking.
