howdy!
getting my mobile rig dialed in, looking for suggestions on a compressor. I run a lil ole hypertherm 600 plasma cutter, probably add CAG/CAC before long.
looking to get input on a compressor. Style, brand,motor,size,etc...you get the picture. looking for ideas & why you went that direction. I am set up with mostly miller equipment. Building the flatbed this winter in spare time, have a longbed pickup bed to fit it all in.

I have had one of those Campbell Hausfled gas driven compress for a number of years and it has worked with out a problem.It is the yellow extreme duty model like they have at Tractor supply stores. It isn't used 6/8 hours a day. It does do the job for my 600.

Also since I am looking for a large electric too hardwire in the shop these company has some very interesting units both gas driven and electric.
I haven't gotten around to locating a dealer near me yet to kick the tires.
They are Made in the USA and are a little pricey, but probably would last a long time.

1st. You ought to try Eaton Compressors, in Clayton, Ohio. This is a Mom and Pop Compressor company that is really growing in size and business. We purchased one of their 3cyl single stage comp units with a 60 gallon verticle tk. I can't get over how slow this unit runs, and the very large amount of compressed air this unit pumps at such a slow speed. The reason we bought this unit was because I have some friends in business, with their 7.5 (full HP) 2stage units mounted on 120 gallon tks.They are American made, and service their businesses well, without problems. They are made and assembled in the good state of OHIO. You know them, they have the Buckeyes who kick ass in football.
We have a glass bead blst cabinet that gets a good work out, when we rebuild sewer pumps, once they have been jetted and dried off. This cabinet is large enough for 2 large men to sit inside of. I wished we had bought at least a 5hp 2 stage on a 120 gallon tk,as I thought we had purchased too small a comp for the blaster we were getting. The unit we bought handles the blaster and anything else we want to use it for. The blaster will pull the tk pressure down to 150#, and pump kicks on, then the pressure slowly creeps back up to shut off, all the while, we're bead blasting. We didn't have that much air availability out of the old Joyce Compressor that blew up on us forceing us into a new comp.
