Strange how these Search Engines work.
I searched for years for more info on Thermal Arc units and in particular for repair depots in the US.
Results were skimpy at best.
So I expanded the search to Canada, UK/EU and eventually to Japan itself and discovered the link with Sanrex and Sansha and Thermal Arc. Was able to download all the owners manuals and service manuals that also had a parts list with component ordering numbers#...Cool.
Was able to find the warehouse that had most of the obsolete and current parts for the 5 thermal arc inverters i bought used or as-is off ebay in Denton, TX. Actually called the warehouse in Denton to get a listing of distributors in TX and FL to place an order for the parts i needed for actual repair and for future maintenance stock and things got a little screwy when the distributors were having trouble on their computer systems to actually place the order.
So I ended up contacting the repair center in NY by phone and they had a few of the parts for the obsolete units and im in the process of sending the wish list.
I always open the inverter units to clean dust out and inspect components before i put power to them to see what issues the units may or may not have as i bought them as back up parts units so thats how i know about the Sanrex components and even the Sanrex circuit boards inside.made in Japan by the way on the components and the rear cover sticker.
Only one unit needs an actual repair( blown igbt/burnt board-the internal inspection showed the unit was probably dropped while it was being used- the smaller lighter units are relatively easier to tip over on its side) .
What is very interesting about the Sanrex igbt and other semiconductors found in my Thermal arc 185TSW, 200ac/dc, 300TSW and some components in the 300LT unit is that they are the SAME as found in my Miller 300 maxstars and 300 dynasty dx/lx inverters!!
I have seen on the Thermal Arc and Sansha/Sanrex web pages the offices/ factories are shown on a world map with Japan, Taiwan, a few sites in China, Korea?? And the NY site in USA.
I have also seen slight differences in the literature specs for the models marketed for the Asian market and the US market i.e input voltage/ phase and on minimum dc low end currents.
As to the questions you raised about the duty cycle - on paper its the same as my 185/200 and 300 units and as a previous poster in another forum indicated its very close to the Dynasty 200 series.
The thermal 300 is also close to my 300 dynasty duty cycle too.
I will have to switch to a desktop screen to see if the rear label on the Sanarg pic shows a China manufacture but i know my Made in Japan thermal arc units are printed in VERY SMALL !! font.
And it looks like this SanArg unit was discussed before on weldingweb forum in 2010!!!
And shows up on a yahoo search 2 days after i post here. Weird how these search engines work.

Sanrex Sanarg AC/DC Tig
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Sanrex Sanarg 200 amp AC/DC Tig welders. Are they good? I just bought one very cheap ( Probably for a reason) Ha ha. I just wanted it to do some Ally welding at home. I think they are a Japanese machine? Can anybody please help me out here??
