Welding Tips and Tricks

I am having trouble see my TIg welds. I have a Miller, I am not home forget the model but it was a 300.00 helmet. I also tried a 1.75 and 2.0 inside lens. I am having an awful time. I mostly Tig at low amperage. Any suggestions. Thinking about the latest speedglass with the side windows it calls them. I have no ide why I would need the side windows, I am guessing there is a reason for them.

I use a Jackson with the truesight auto darkening. A lot of the welding I do is 20 to 100 amps. The helmet works great only time I been flashed is because I didn't turn it on. It has an amber lens instead of the green tint allows you to see colors a lot better , that you normally can't see. I took some picks looking threw lens at a pack of my kids colored marker caps. I've had speedglas for almost 9years. The side windows are a novelty, good for spotting things out of the corner of your eye while welding. Like the end of the last run on a long mig run,. But a pain in the ring when working near other welders or shiny surfaces. But.... You can option the shield without them, and they come with a clip in cover to black them out.

I have a Speedglas 9100XX and a 9100FX XX Adflo. Both are with side windows and both are capped using the supplied blinders.
As Mike said they are a novelty. Personally I find them distracting that is why I do not use them.
The Speedglas lens on the other is IMO the best of all I have tried.
The only lens I find comparable is the now hard to find gold coated Athermal lens from Schott.
Actually I prefer the speedglas for TIG work and I am still undecided for SMAW.
