Vision Problems, Halos, Light Scatters when MIG welding

Is anyone here familiar with any welders who have had lens implants to repair cataracts in their eyes?

And, if they did, how did it affect their welding vision, particularly MIG welding.

I had cataracts removed and intraocular lens (IOL) implants. Now the sensitivity to bright light (arc) causes halos, light scattering and makes it very difficult to see the puddle and or my weld line. This is not a Near-sighted-Far-sighted problem.

I'm wondering if the gold lens would help? Any suggestions?

Thanks, Colt

You may do well with a far darker lens than a normal situation may warrant. Like a 12 or 13 instead of a 10 or 11. Maybe the gold lenses would work, there are a number of specialty ones such as blue and even red out there.
