Me neither. That's why I said I don't know if I should be impressed or laugh. If there was more to the welder it may be impressive but I believe that Miller has some engine drive welders that have an air compressor built in.

This one is great too. Especially at 1:53. That guys skills are wicked! I don't like running down others skills but he looks like he is petting a cat and not stick welding.

As long as you can cope with the "artistic license" of the ad director....which usually means rubbish ideas from an idiot.

WOW!!!!! Can you cheesszzzzzeeee! The thing that gets me is that company does make pretty good power washers. We have one of their largest units at work and does a very good job of cleaning our trucks.
I think the whole approach to the 3 in 1 is cheap at best. Miller does have welders with air compressors, but those are well made and they cost a pretty good penny to. Like the older Miller Air Pak, that was a $20k dollar welder back in the day. The railroad used them around here by me. Now they have a Trailblazer model with air, if I already didn't have a air compressor, I would seriously consider it.

I think they tried taking a gas powered air compressor and said hey why don't we bolt a harbor freight stick welder on there and wire an outlet on it. The thing that gets me is that John Deere is marketing this product, I think they should have higher standards. It may work and in the end that is all that matters but part of it is it has to look decent too. But seriously that guys should have at least had a basic welding course before making the commercial.

I think you'll find its the marketing "geniuses" of modern industry mooching off the hard work and quality of times passed. Kincrome, a tool company in Aus is a great spanner maker, but now sells all kind of low qual rubbish with their sticker slapped on it.

Well Steve if you wanna come on up to West Virginia, you can weld some horseshoes together and we will video you and make a horseshoe art advertisement.
Pay ain't that great, but you can have a do it yourself horseshoe art starter kit (a handful of shoes)

I found a new gem today on ebay. Has anyone ever seen one of these before and know how they work. They seem interesting if they really work.

My Uncle has 2 of them.
I'll ask him how he likes them.
He has them on his fishing boats.

Thanks. I was thinking about later on mounting one on the tractor. My father in law is so rough on equipment that would be so easy to throw some rods in the tool box of the tractor and then if something breaks just weld it right on the spot without any down time.

I have no experience directly, but they do use these, or something like them, on off road vehicles. They must work fine or good enough to get a rid back online.
