Welding Machine Meters

Anyone out there ever added either digital or analog voltage and or amperage meters to their machine? I have an ESAB Migmaster 250 that I would really like to add more precision to other than just numbered knobs and dials. Any past experience on a transformer machine would be appreciated.

You definitely can. I have, but not permanently. You can even get a wireless one and install it into your hood on the inside for real-time analysis.

Cool, and thanks, I will post my results here when I get this done.

That one requires a shunt resistor for the current, and even though it is rated at 300A, some reviews said it got too hot at only 100A. I would better suggest one with an open-close transformer for inductive pickup of the amperage. That way you can use it on a short pigtail for the work clamp. Female Dinse - copper welding cable with the transformer in the middle - then male dinse. That way you can plug it in and unplug it from the welder easily.
