Anybody have any first hand experience with one of these new Ranger models? Looking to get one for use around the ranch and a little side biz doing typical repair work. It's new and it's fancy, but is it worth it?

With the rebate it's about the same price as a Ranger 250GXT, not that I probably need the higher amperage, but you never know. Biggest difference is a lack of AC output on the 300MPX, but I've never needed AC so far.

Are any of these out in the wild yet? I checked the review forum but couldn't find anything.

Unless you encounter arc-blow by using some large stick electrodes at high amperage, you don't really need AC output, IMO. I haven't seen too much on these new Ranger's. They look pretty cool, and with the rebate they have going on, it's not too bad of a deal.

I’ve got AC on my bobcat 250. I’ve never used it. No reason to.

My boss picked one up acouple of weeks ago. We’re about 10-12 hours in. Very nice digital display and all that, hot start and arc force are fun to play with. We have done mostly stick welding, all 7018. Its a brand new machine so the arc as of now is super crisp. We also ran a LN-25 off of it and my Tig inverter for some aluminum repair. It’s crazy quiet and decent on fuel consumption. No spool gun for it and haven’t tried dc tig off of it. Definitely will try that soon. So far so good
