So my drop hitch for my tool trailer was getting pretty worn out where the pins go to adjust the height so I figured I’d use my new tig welder... (this is my first time tig welding outside of running practice beads on plates) This hitch carries my livelihood so I thought it would be a good idea to get some feedback before getting too far into it. Ran 2 beads tell me what you think. thanks in advance.

It’s fine. But you want to wrap that bead around the corner for strength. I realize you may not be “done” so I am just echoing yuor own intentions
Anything that carries your livelihood wants to be welded so that Thor can’t break it.

Thanks for the reply. Ya wanted a little feedback before I went any further Incase something didn’t look right... I figured I could just go buy another one if I didn’t feel good about it. I’ll post up some more pics when I finish up. Thanks again.

If you really want it to be strong, fill the holes on the side plates by welding them to the interior tube. That’ll make that thing stronger enough to hold the world on your bumper.

Looks fine.
You may want to consider doing a multi pass using a smaller root pass first!
