Here is a pic of our latest installation dubbed "The Gate Templar". It features cold, hand forged scrollwork suspending a cross. Finished with our own rustic process. 9'x5' approx 250 lbs.

Interesting build, but I don't like the offset around the lock. Was that a customer choice?

no it was a design choice. It looked far sillier without a uniform space throughout.

Well I'm just a dumb weldor, not a designer. That offset draws my attention when I look at the piece and detracts from other elements.
Was it mocked up before the design was settled on?

I'd have tried to lower the locks to where the bottom panel meets the scrollwork. In my eye the lock detracts from the scrollwork.

Very nice build but I do admit the piece surrounding the lock kinda stands out when it should'nt - if no lower profile lock was available I think I might have made the other side the same so it looked symmetrical from a distance - though without mocking it up that way I guess it could look worse.

if the customer is happy and paid the bill then that's what really matters
