Looking to buy a 110 tig machine. Looking for something that has high frequency and ac. Looking at the miller dynasty 210dx or Lincoln square wave 200, but will consider other brands. Mainly will be welding 16ga steel and aluminum.
If going no higher than 16ga on both steel and aluminum, I supposed a 120V TIG would get you by. You'd be limited to about 100A of welding current on a 20A breaker, and up to about 140A on a 30A breaker. There is an HTP Invertig 221 in the Classifieds subforum. Its a nice machine. Very capable. And it's a dual voltage machine. You'd just have to make your own adapter or remove the 6-50P plug I assume is on the machine, and install a standard 5-15P or 5-20P depending on what receptacle you plan to plug it into.

I own the dynasty 210dx and it is a fantastic machine with great tech support.

AC TIG on 120v? Maybe... .060 aluminum material thickness at the most. You’d still be better with a 220v box. I don’t know for certain, but I suspect some features on AC, like pulse, may not work on 120v. Certainly would require a 20 amp fuse.
