So I'm finally back on the road of teaching myself to TIG, bought a Primeweld TIG225x and it seems to be working better than the Hyl I had that died. I'm seeing a lot of people on Youtube that should know what they are doing welding with short sleeves. Is this OK or am I going to burn? I've been using long sleeve cotton shirts for now, never spend much time actually welding because I spend it grinding tungsten. Hoping that my welding to fixing/grinding ratio will improve.

I mention this because I did forget and do some fluxcore welding a few years ago in short sleeves, that was a huge mistake!

I'm looking at some cheap sleeves right now, a set of Lincoln on Amazon are $10. But what should I really be using? I assume at the most that heavy cotton is fine, don't really get flying gobs of metal with TIG like with a MIG process or stick. And it gets hot in the garage for the next 4 or so months.

Should I have a neck flap on my hood?

In general, I wear jeans and leather boots (no toe protection, not working with heavy stuff). And of course some thinner leather welding gloves.

I have a set of sleeves but somehow they always leave a gap at my shirt so end up with two red rings around my bicep I just throw on a light button up shirt for Tig and light mig sticks a whole different ball game
