Good stuff!
It's been a while, but I've done all of this except the open-root on ceramic (though I've done it since with E308 hard wire in both short-circuit and spray).
I did pick up a great tip that I'm stunned never occurred to me on my own... cone-grinding the end of a liner for centering and optimum contact. I'll be doing this at liner and/or diffuser changes from now on.
Great set of tips, and good troubleshooting guide.
