Pulse is one of those things that has its place, and not everyone will use it in the same way. Most that I know don't like to use pulse on AC, where I like it sometimes is on thin open corner fusion joints. Really depends on the joint configuration, I'm assuming it's a t type configuration with the 1/8" sticking out from the 3/8" piece? I would make sure the fit up is really good. The 1/8" piece shouldn't have any gaps. Any place the plate isn't touching is going to make it blow out easi...

They are a medium thickness, very soft. They are the best tig gloves for my hands that I've used.
The new black gloves are slightly harder feeling to me, I like them a lot.
Feel kind of like the goat skin tillmans ive used, just a little bit thicker.

There is no one size fits all for any welding. There are completely acceptable and desirable 6' long welds, 6" long welds, and 1/2" long welds. It really all depends on the procedure, process, and weldment. Sometimes the angle is getting less warpage, sometimes its to make a weld seam that...
