Re: Vertical weld overlapping angle iron

DSC_0008.JPG Hi: Thanks for the reply. If you look at the back corner left hand side of the picture where the short cross piece spans between the legs, after coping the short piece, there is the tab of steel left above the coping notch that overlaps the back leg. I chose not to go right into the co...

Steel storage rack for garage

Does anyone know where I can find a plan for a metal storage rack? I'm looking for something that would hold angle, square and plate - it would go along the long wall of my standard garage bay and I was told to bolt to the floor so it doesn't topple over on the wife. Can't stick out too far or won't...

Never coped before and actually did a beautiful jo...

Re: Plasma or Oxy Acet

Thanks all for the great feedback! I'm going to buy a good plasma...thinking one of the Hobarts or the Hypertherm. Maybe I'll pick up one of the small oxy setups and store in my shed...use for bending or loosening parts.

Happy New Year to all!

Plasma or Oxy Acet

Hi Everyone: I have been thinking of a plasma cutter for a while now, but they are expensive. I saw a bunch of posts suggesting getting an Oxy setup...much cheaper and you can also use to heat up metal to bend. I love the idea of using it for bending as without it, I will need to buy benders as well...

New welder from Winnipeg, Canada

Hi Everyone: Guess I'm still in my midlife crisis and needed a cool hobby and was really fascinated by welding. Took a 40 hr welding course at a community college and now I've started to build stuff - built a bike rack for my 4x6 trailer and almost finished my welding table. I'm sure I will have a l...
