Re: Dry Saw Blade Recommendations?
I have had excellent luck with both Milwaukee and evolution blades with up to 1 inch thick solid stock and up to two buy four square stock. If you run light blade pressure you can get thousands of cuts per blade. I cut 23-26 sticks of 5/8 round stock daily (I make sissy bars for Harleys) and I put o...

Re: Modifications on stick welding machines
Yes, but why? It would cost more than an Everlast 140stl which comes with a foot pedal (all be it a crappy one) for the scr's( your gonna need the fancy expensive potted ones with the huge heat sinks), time to Fab up a box and pedal, find the right spring, find the right connection and solder it tog...

Lol that's why I don't post pics of my wire. I know it sucks, I only do it 2 or 3 times a year, everything else gets tigged.

Re: What is safe to store on a welding table?
Current running around your parts and power tools won't hurt them. At most it might induce a tiny magnetic field. Wouldn't leave anything with a magnetic disk there but anything else you should do good.

Video request
I would love to see a Tig finger video. I ordered 2 Jumbo's and am having a hard time getting used to them. I see the potential and the way these things slide is amazing. So I request a "Tig finger basic training" video and Tig finger gloves where the last 3 fingers and drag patch are made...

I don't know if you have a stick machine but seems to be a good application for 7018, but if you are limited by wire feeder only my knee jerk reaction would be dual shield flux. Blue demon makes it in .035 on11lbs spools. I have run ALOT of it and it's very ductile. It's my go to for higher vibrati...

CJ you are awesome! It was my tungsten grind. Dug out my sharpener and put a proper grind on it and I don't look like a noob anymore. So now I'm just guessing the heat was too pinpoint and overheating or pootching out the back. The stupid thing is I watched that video not that long ago. I am such a ...

Except I am ashamed to say, not really a beginner. I do typically sharpen a pretty thin point. I will get a lot closer to 15 degrees. thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. What does it mean when the filler rod sticks a little coming out of the puddle? If it where alloy I'd give it 2-3 more a...

Re: Lets talk china Tigs?
I have 2 Everlast Tig machines and to be honest I think they're a better build quality than my 210mp and sw200. I have used an alphatig in the professional environment and the machine is Rock solid if you don't try to pull higher amps on 120v. I have opened all of them and the Everlast are nicer tha...

I try to stay off of here and just lurk. And I almost always find my answer without posting. But this has me stumped. Long story short, I went to welding school, got a couple of mig jobs and I hated it, got a job tiging aluminum, loved it and stayed. Owner of the company dies and company shuts down....

Re: OMG Frustrated, tig stringer/dab tec
Aside from you needing to clean the metal, 65-80A is nowhere near enough. Ever hear Jody talk about "1 amp per thousandth of metal thickness"? That's what you should be following to get dialed in, along with using the footpedal. Its never to late to go back to school and finish your engin...

Hey guys, new guy from SW Missouri here. Mostly a mig guy but trying to change that. I am trying to get my tig skills back to get a stainless tig job which is really common around here. I haven't touched a tig torch in 7 months untill a couple days ago and I can still walk the cup but freehand is tu...

OMG Frustrated, tig stringer/dab tec
first a little backround on me, I gave up my engineering degree and went to welding school because I was sick of building things on a computer and wanted to build things in real life. I got aws certs in stick, mig, flux, and 3g pipe (tig root). I was only taught walking the cup. I have been only doi...
