Having never read AS3892 is there much of a difference to AS1796 or is it just the retesting part since its working with boilers

Re: Career advice
Your situation sounds very similar. I ended up in engineering because I was always the one to put my hand up to fix problems, I'm lucky in a way as the engineers I work with are brilliant but they also ask me for my advice as they do respect my knowledge the only problem is the company bases wages o...

Career advice
Hey everyone, I've come to a crossroads in my career and I'm finding it tough to get advice from people who have been in the same situation. About three years ago I got "promoted" into an engineering support role which has been touted as a wonderful opportunity by everyone who I speak to, ...

Re: What am I missing...
I feel ya buddy I'm Australian as well and good gear here is expensive no ifs or buts. Basically you have your industrial quality units which are designed to be run flat out all day without fail they are expensive because of R&D and our small market plus gst and logistics costs then the Chinese ...

Re: Welding car components
Yeah that's what I thought initially big companies have legal teams to cover this sort of stuff. And yes Australian regs are up there with the toughest of them. 25% due to the Aussie attitude of "she'll be right mate" 25% Engineers on the regulations boards putting in sound engineering req...

Re: Welding car components
I'm in OZ as well and I've been through the regs I've even said to him to get it certified but his opinion was it was safe so he wasn't worried. I'm a qualified boilermaker so I am able to get my work certified if it were to be engineered so I think I'll probably only do it if he agrees to get it in...

Welding car components
Hi guys and girls, I've been asked to do some welding on a friend's car but my judgment is making me question doing so. It's a small sports car and he would like the panhard rod (track rod I believe they are called in the US) cut and have an adjuster installed, these adjusters are sold as suited to ...

I don't know if it's changed much since I did my apprenticeship and some of my mates did there welder quals. but from memory everyone started with Module welding and thermal cutting then you could do mig stick or tig 1,2 and 3 this didn't make you a certified welder but it showed your employer you h...

Not nearly $1500 compelling, only real reason as I was looking to do it in blocks to save dragging it out over 18weeks

AS1796 Welding Certification Australia
Hi guys and girls,
Just wondering if any of the Aussies here in NSW have completed their AS1796 certification with a training provider other than TAFE and if it was available to do it in weekly blocks?
