Re: ChuckE2009 , what happened to this channel???
An entertaining guy who knows his stuff and mixes good info with irreverence and absurdity. Exactly. I always got a good laugh from his video's . The channel allowed comments until just very recently. And prior to them being disabled, there were really no crude comments that I noticed. He had all g...

ChuckE2009 , what happened to this channel???
What happened to ChuckE2009 ? I was subscribed to him and always got a laugh from his vids , it was just a fun channel to watch ...but now it's got way too many tool unboxings and reviews ...he's obviously way too commercialized now. He also disabled comments on all videos i've looked at. I would im...

Re: How do you hold your tig torch
Usually I hold it like a pencil, sometimes like silverware and sometimes like a hammer, all the way out at the end where the cable goes in and propping on the cup for control .
Guess it depends on what you're welding.

Re: Problems with TIG Torch
Hope you get it fixed . If not, look into a CK . I had a weird problem last year , thought it was my torch, CK sent me a whole new outfit no questions asked . Everything pointed to a crack in the brass head ...eventually I found the prob and it wasn't the CK20 . Needless to say, i'd recommend CK , t...

Re: Tig Cooler Anti fingal / Anti Bacterial ???
I had a chrome plated socket over the intake hose as a weight to keep it near the bottom . That socket looked like it was at the bottom of the ocean for a few hundred years ...about 1/8" was eaten away all the way around it . I was careful to use only stainless everywhere this time . Even the 1...

Tig Cooler Anti fingal / Anti Bacterial ???
My Tig cooler developed growth over about a year, likely fungal ...I procrastinated and then one of my quick disconnects developed a leak...likely from electrolysis . I Took everything apart, cleaned and am almost done repairing everything. When I dumped the tank, the water was very cloudy and I had...

Ace, nice setup. Once you have used a speed handle on a mill vise, it's pretty had to imaging not having one huh? I share your opinion of Matt. Got my 1440 lathe from him and am very happy with his machine and service. Yep . The only problem I have found with a mil is that once you have one, you wa...

That should work nice! A lot easier to grab that is for sure ... Is the Mill up and running? Thanks, yes it's all set up. Cosmoline all cleaned off, oiled, re-greased, trammed. Getting to know the machine. Matt at Quality Machine Tool in Pittsburgh has been a big help. I started doing a few things ...

Re: The what I welded today (/whenever) thread (pics please)
Just a little hand tool I made so I don't have to fumble around with a wrench on the draw bar above the mill . Got a bunch of these 304 knurled knobs off food service machines at the scrap yard, knew they'd come in handy. Don't know exactly what the socket is made of so used some 625 rod. ----------...

Great work Sub - you always seem to be putting together good stuff. Just wanted to thank you for setting me off in a better direction with my ancient band saw. Re: Ok, it's welded and twisted. Now what?
It's a never ending problem. Welding with thin or small parts that can't take the heat buildup or even welding too much at one time is something that is always gonna have to be in your head. The battle with warpage is always there. I found this out during one of my first projects, my welding cart. ...

Re: Built a Mobile base for my Mill
If you look the mill and stand are in the background of his pic. As long as its stable, that thing has to be 1000lbs. How often do you plan on moving it? The leveling legs make it 3" wider than just the base that comes with it. With the leveling legs up, it's about 8" wider on the casters...
