if you try not to stir the pudle with it they will last a long time :) , i buy only Weldcraft, it doesn't say where they were made, costs about 1 euro/pc , i think it's the cheapest weld consumable there is, don't even consider the cost of tungsten when giving a quote. wife goes crazy if she finds t...

http://www.hobartwelders.com/products/electrodes-wire/electrode-chart/ you have a chart here, it says that only 6010 can be used with an AC machine like you have it also says they don't make it in 1/16 , maybe you can find from other store some time ago i did some bodywork on a Fleetside, the damn t...

no, it's far from perfect, you just don't know that. Could you please enlighten us as to why these welds are "far from perfect" and possibly could kill someone? I'm trying to see what you're talking about but the only thing I'm seeing is the small crater left after the arc start in the be...

Re: wandering arc?
if all Jakeru said is not working , then you must keep the tungsten closer to the weldpool, i bet this is the problem.
mild steel will spark and bbl just like cast iron if you use too much amps or weld speed is too low.

is dat a known (scientific) fact or something somebody told you? i belive the thikness of the bead has a bigger influence in failure of high heat sistems then a hot(ish) weld, and i've never seen a fully penetrated weld that looks golden on the outside, not on 1,5-2mm ss and not without backpurge

weld looks straight, looks a little hot to me... how thick is that material? when i weld stainless i will literally do 5 beads and stop postflow and start again after a 30 seconds for cooling. and you have seen my stainless welds :) it's not hot at all, the wall is very thin, 1 pass , freehand. if ...

but that was just training in 6g pos and goofing with pulse. almost never had to weld anything at 45 in a factory, some 800 OD steam pipes ..

the electrode should be grinded when it's contaminated, even if it looks ok but u know u diped it just a litle bit u need to grind it again. with the right size electrode, enough pre/post flow, u can weld hours , still i like to start the day with a newly grinded one. some types of tungsten may give...

Re: TIG WELDING - BANDSAW BLADES, IMPORT CAR FENDERS
i see nobody wants to answer your questions, i will try to do that. 1 , band saw blades, i've done it a few times with 1,6mm tungsten , would use a smaller one if availble, i can also say if a bandsaw will brake, it will have more cracks along so the weld might hold up but it will brake soon somewhe...
