Re: do I need to go to school

Like I said acceptance criteria in the toilet. Here is an example of a student who was allowed to proceed to a more complicated task than he could handle. As you can see from the picture this poor guy has no clue how to run a 7018 uphill and more than likely had similar results even in the flat pos...

Re: Aluminum question, MIG.

Re: Cobra Mig 260 w/python push pull gun

Just curious if anyone has ever used one of these? Looks like they might actually make the push pull guns for Miller and Lincoln. This machine looks like it has some nice options. I have a Miller 252 but was interested in leaving this set up for aluminum. Now I've used a 350p before and really do l...

Re: Sunburn or Heat flush

I have a Miller auto shade that I really like but I bought a Jackson Viking about 4 months ago and I use it most of the time and I have played with both of them so I know how to use them but I keep getting red cheeks like a light sunburn when I weld, mig or tig. My eyes are fine and I don't feel li...

Re: do I need to go to school

Boomer63, I'm presently dealing with one particular new-hire, who's welding school apparently never emphasized "how to roll up your leads when you're done." This is a new "pet peeve" for me. In a work environment, I expect any machine I walk up to, to be ready to weld with. I do...

Re: do I need to go to school

Ask for a list of companies they've successfully placed graduates with, with statistics. Then look at those compan...

Re: Help with penetration

did you try lowering your wire speed with mig the more wire you run the colder it will in turn be as there is so much more material going in and also make sure that your staying in the leading edge of the puddle very important on thicker material especially when ones worried about proper fusion
