Good to know polarity doesn't matter. Thanks.
I bought the 10/3 wire, plug and receptacle at Ace Hardware.

Correctly wiring a 30 to 50A extension cord
Did I wire this correctly? Seems like it should be easy but the diagrams with the plug and receptacle were unclear. 10/3 wire. Green between the center posts. White between the two posts marked with the white dot. The white dot in the center of the receptacle is a screw. Black to the unmarked posts....

Shielding gas for TIG
I am new to Tig and Mig and haven't even laid a bead yet, as I am still waiting for my welder to arrive. I bought a tank of 75/25 Argon/CO2 for the Mig and was about to get tank of 100% Argon for the Tig, but then read that some prefer 50/50 Argon/He. I will be primarily welding steel and stainless ...

Re: Flux core wire & Humidity
Yeah it also gets a bit sticky down here in Key West, FL. We have been running the AC since early March mostly to keep the humidity down. Thanks for the response.

Re: 30 or 50A line?
Thanks Guys. As I am the only one that ever takes X-rays in my office I would never be welding and radiating anyone at the same time, but I guess I could also put a selector switch in as well so it is either welder circuit or x-ray circuit selected but not both at the same time. I'm a Chiropractor, ...

30 or 50A line?
I just ordered an Everlast PowerMTS200 that is rated 200A mig/tig and 175A stick with a 35% Duty cycle. Will I need a 50A circuit to get the full capabilities out of this machine? If so, I have a 70A circuit that goes to an unfused switch box before it goes into my X-ray machine. Would it be safe to...

Re: Hello to all and a Special Thank You to Jody
Thanks Guys. I appreciate the warm welcome. It's great for a rookie like me to have access to such a kind, knowledgeable group of pros. I have a question about running a circuit to run my welder, but am not sure where, or how to post it. Where do I start a new topic? Thanks again From the comments I...

Hello to all and a Special Thank You to Jody
Hello to Everyone and a special shout out to Jody, I am excited to dive into the world of welding. I make my living as a Chiropractor. I've been an avid woodworker for the past 40 years with only limited stick experience 30 years ago. So I am a rank beginner. I got turned on to welding by a woodwork...
