Thank you for all suggestions. As I look at u tube it seems that soldering aluminum with torch is the way to go.

What about a propane or acetalyne torch to solder aluminum into the hole. It looks easy on u tube.

Have some small holes I am trying to fill on the bottom of a 12' aluminum boat. Any suggestions on how to get the ground closer to the middle of the bottom where the holes are located. Also what is the best way to secure a thin piece of backing on the opposite side to avoid burn thru?

Some helmets have batteries that can and should be changed periodically but I've never heard of a specific time frame. I'm guessing it would depend on their usage and times switching between modes. I'm sure that the solar ones have a life span and again it would depend on how often it gets used and...

I use an auto darkening helmet I have had for a few years and have never changes the lenses. The other day I welded for 2-3 hours and had sand in the eyes afterward. How often are you supposed to change the lenses? I am using a miller 211 mvp machine if it makes any difference.

Another simple question about aluminum mig welding--Can you use 4043 wire to weld 5 and 6 series aluminum? I have seen a 5 series wire but not a 6. Thanks for your help.

probably not a good idea to build tree stands with aluminum unless strength/type is known

Hi: I am going to a manufacturer tomorrow and he has said I can take as much aluminum as I want. How do you know if its 4,5 or 6 series if he doesn't have it id'd or segregated? Is there a test or is it stamped? I know these are stupid questions but just bear with me please.

Can anyone let me know if they have a miller 211 mig machine set up with a 3035 spool gun and the sga 100 adapter? Some of the miller literature says its compatible and other areas only talk about the spoolmate 100.
