Switch on the torch. I used a new grinding wheel on my grinder.Even tried the arc directly on the ground clamp with the same results.

arc help for a newbie

Hi guys/girls Haven't been on here for a while. I bought a combination welder last year and have been using the "mig" and "mma" a lot. Bought argon gas and set up the Tig today to teach myself Tig. Cleaned the metal as best as I can and even wiped it down. When I initiate the arc...

There are a company called BOC that supply any gas you want but they are expencive. You pay a yearly fee to be a member and than you pay a monthly rental for every gas cylinder + refill.

That's the 3 diffrent sizes I can get "Rent Free" There is a deposit on your first bottle that you get back if you do not want the cylinder anymore.

Gas cylinder size.

Bought a welder that has a tig function. I want to learn to tig weld and was wondering about the size of tank for practice. Will a 9L(15lbs) 1986.5 PSI (pure argon)cylinder be enough gas for practicing?
TIA

Bending SS rods

I need to bend a 5mm SS rod in a 45cm diameter ring.
My problem is I do not have a bender or O/A system.
Is there a way that I can do this cold?
I have a cylinder that's about 39cm in diameter. If I weld the end of the rod onto the cylinder will I be able to bent the rod without snapping it?
Tx

So got my helmet last week and start using it. My first experience with an auto darkening helmet.
Happy with it so far. Like the grinding mode on it though it is not clear for it.

Re: What I welded today stick section?

So I changed again my mind and put my chop saw with my drill press on the swivel table.
Maybe not the most efficient way to do it but with limited space it works for me.

Why would I buy a thing for a tenner if I can make it for fifty.
