I am using 3/32 tungsten and 1/16th er70s2 filler for 120 wall dom 1 and 3/4 tubing. Fit up is tight. It seems to be too much filler. I was thinking about trying .045 instead any opinions? Thanks John.

Welded aluminum on a.c. today for aboutv8 hrs. No shock since I've been wearing coat. Hope u can figure your problem out soon. I've been more conscious of holding the filler back a ways before I light up. Thanks for all the tips and good luck. John

also, I had the o ring damaged from threading back cap on and, off a couple of times. I don't know if argon leaking right there could cause a problem or not. Just telling you all variables that I suspect caused my issues. I changed o ring as well. Hope this helps.

First shock I had was from the filler rod on a.c. welding aluminum. Felt like someone hit my lefthand finger with a hammer, arm flew back with filler on the floor wondering wtf happened. Fun not.

Also, I changed to a new pair of gloves. Originally I was grinding, sanding, and I even picked up some oily car parts with gloves. That may have been problem as well for me.

This is ironic you brought this topic up because 3 days ago I got shocked twice while welding aluminum and stainless. I was told to put a grounding rod etc. As well. Never did, but I started wearing my welding jacket again and no more problems. If your bare skin touches the work table that's grounde...

Tried this today and can't tell if I'm pooling the base metal as well as the rod or not. Any tips would be great. Thought I would put this over some of my welds.

Well i'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Used a stainless brush and then a red scotchbrite all in one direction. What do you think? Thanks Rick and everyone else. John

Burnishing

Would a furnishing tool work well for this application?

I was thinking about doing this on my overflow tank. I have a picture under new posts on forum for overflow tank. After you look at the picture can u tell me if the machine would work well for that application. Thanks John.
