Re: Hobart 210MVP Sale Priced

Looks like a good price. One thing I notice is the adjusting knobs have "stops" or incremental jumps, rather than infinite adjusting. Have you used a machine like that, and did you like it? You may not have a preference. Hi Artie. From what I read about it, the amp or heat selecter is a c...

Hobart 210MVP Sale Priced

I don't know if this is a really good deal, but it seems like it. I have been looking at a possible purchase of this model welder and the lowest I have found I think was around $890. This is sale priced at Blain's Farm and Fleet for $794. Just say'n. Here is link == http://www.farmandfleet.com/produ...

Re: Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you Steve. I spent most of my years in St. Louis, but I have lived in Salem for the last 8 years. Current River and Montauk Park territory. Canoeing, hunting, trout fishing and of course Rolla (28miles) Missouri used to be 'School of Mines' now S&T -- Science and Technology. ...

Re: Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you as well, Colt! You mention Missouri Ozarks. Would you mind being a little more specific? By PM, if you're uncomfortable? I graduated from Mtn. Grove, did college in Springfield, and had my fun in places in or near Ava, Chadwick, Forsythe, and Kimberling City. And, yes, more t...

Re: TIG Helmet

I bet we see a post about a Pipeliner in a little while from someone! Seriously though, I just ordered one of the SavePhace 40VizI4 helmets. We'll see what happens. I have quite a few welds to do in the next few weeks in a plethora of positions. So it should get put through its paces pretty well. A...

Vision Problems, Halos, Light Scatters when MIG welding

Is anyone here familiar with any welders who have had lens implants to repair cataracts in their eyes? And, if they did, how did it affect their welding vision, particularly MIG welding. I had cataracts removed and intraocular lens (IOL) implants. Now the sensitivity to bright light (arc) causes hal...

Re: Old School Trying To Get Back Up To Speed

I think I know what's wrong with it- this tire is looking a little low. fairlane.jpg Kidding, of course! But for real, a heads up- both flux core and co2-shielded MIG are too hot for auto body work. When you start looking into machines, let us know if you'd like to bounce ideas around. Yeah, when I...

Re: Old School Trying To Get Back Up To Speed

Welcome, Colt! Post up some photos of the Fairlane if you can, we'd love to see pics. What kind of welder do you have? Thanks for the welcome. I have a Campbell Hausfeld 90 amp Flux Core that I use for little jobs around the property here, but I need to step up to weld some 3/16. I always used 75/2...

Old School Trying To Get Back Up To Speed

Hello, Looks like real good information here. Worked in Auto Body Repair for 40+ years. Retired about 10 years ago and just trying to get back at it for fun. Restoring a '64 Fairlane and plenty of welding to do. Thank you. :)
