I mentioned in another post that try to move your whole arm instead of just your wrist, that should help you not dip your tungsten as much, it really helped me.

I had the exact same issue. Gas supplier would not believe that gas was bad, good thing gas was pretty low anyway. But anyway it's very discouraging. Good thing you figured it out

I've gotten lasik, and for the most part it doesn't interfere. You're eyes do become drier for a while and you'll have to use eye drops for a while. It's been a little over a year for me now and I still use regular eye drops but all in all it was worth. Also I had issues with dry eyes before lasik a...

Don't get discouraged. I just got a powertig 185 a couple weeks ago and am a new welder. Watching Jody weld and making it look so easy was an illusion, tig welding especially in the beginning is pretty difficult. What I ended up doing is getting a quick tungsten prep station.
