Re: Welder's finger / Welder's third hand

good point, i hadn't really thought about that. I suppose, though, you could make one with a big magnetic base and a heavy hinge instead of feet. that would keep the base from moving on you and you could put more force down on the point. Thats a good idea too you could also include a bolt or thread...

Re: Everlast Products

I love my 256. I use it in my back yard to cut and weld and its nice to have a single machine that does both. Its worth the price as far as I'm concerned. If it last only 3 years Ill be happy with that because it will have easily paid for itself by then.

Re: Tip for reducing wasted shielding gas

I wonder if this would help cause a medium bottle to empty so fast aswell.

By the looks of it my hose is a bigger diameter than the one you use. Matter of fact the hose was really loose on the barbs, Im going to fix that up right away.

Thanks for bring that up.

Re: Welder's finger / Welder's third hand

Really nice job Man.
I got to make me some of those too. Its such a pita to weld ic and exhaust pipes together.

Now it would be cool to find a way to hold a pipe in position on the car while trying to tack it on.

Re: My pp256 and first projects

I was practicing with all the settings. lol I did find the timing hard with the filler and the pulses. I also found it didn't blend in enough when I was feeding at roughly the right time. I was using 1/8 rods with 1/8 plate and found it was too much filler per drop. I found it worked the best when I...

Re: Intercooler end tank

Nice intercooler design Ive thought of doing that style in the past. What car are you using it on? I made my end tanks on My Talon. I can post some finished pics if youd like to see what I did with mine. I used a lincoln squarewave 175 that we have at work to do it. I just bought a powermaster 256 y...

Re: what welder to buy?

Joe I just ordered a pp256 yesterday. I was in the same boat as you. I wasn't 100% sure of the Everlast ac/dc tig plasma units. Even though I convinced 2 of my friends to buy the dc tig/plasma combo's back in the winter, I wasn't sure I wanted to spend more than double what they did for a ac/dc setu...
