Re: Eastwood Versacut 60 or 40 plasma cutters ?
Thanks Rake and Brian , points well taken , I'll shop around a little more then decide . I got the Hypertherm / Eastwood consumables number from the Eastwood site , they list their catalog numbers and also Hypertherms to fit both the Versacut 60 and 40 . But I'm still learning and not made a final d...

Re: Eastwood Versacut 60 or 40 plasma cutters ?
Thanks mcoe , I been thinking about the Versacut 40 , it will cut up to 3/8 and that will serve my needs at home. The Versacut 60 will cut 7/8 , nice to have but anything that thick I could cut it at work.

Re: what type of steel is this? it cracked!
Hey Daniel , if the magnet stuck then it's not stainless , your photo appears like the metal was new and was using that as an aid to ID it , sometimes you will see a slight flash rust on the metal which stainless won't have . Since it tore while bending I'm not sure what you have . Sorry . Also some...

Re: what type of steel is this? it cracked!
Have you tried to stick a magnet to it ? Does it have any rust on it ? Looks like cast stainless from what I can see , but that's a guess with out seeing it up close . Hope this helps .

Hey folks , has anyone tried the either of the Eastwood plasma cutters ? The prices seem affordable for the home shop and the consumables are interchangeable with Hypertherm models .Hypertherm seems to be top notch product but a little expensive for the home user . The reviews that I have read are g...

Hello , from WV
Hello to all , I love this site for welding info and videos . I really like Jody's break it down style. I'm a journeyman machinist but lacking acceptable welding skills . More practice and projects always helps me . Great jobs folks !
