I never knew that about the AHPs AC balance I just got a feel for the welded so now I no depending on the condition of the aluminum where to set the AC balance. Thanks for the info.

More work on the side by side stereo system. I'm use .065 aluminum plate and tread plate. Using a ahp alpha tig 200 ex. 3/32 2%Lanthanated tungsten electrode sharped to a point. I use a CK flex loc torch with the 3 series torch head on it. argon & helium mix today about a 50/50 mix it welded nic...

I did some aluminum welding this morning and didn't have any problems and my ground is clamped to my 3rd hand witches has silicon bronze on all the contact points. I'm getting a slight shock when I first dab the filler. As so as the filler gets close to the arc I get a shock. Ive checked the ground, I'm not touching the tungsten to the work piece. It's coming up the filler rod and only does it on AC pulse.

My tig welder is shocking me.
I have a AHP ALPHA TIG. It's a good starter unit. Here recnetly it started shocking me through the filler rod when I start a puddle. It normarly does it once or twice. I got a customer that hired me to fab up boxes so he can install a stereo system on his arctic cat side by side. I'm .063 aluminum plate and .063 aluminum tread plate. If your looking for a helium regulator miller has one it's not listed in there gases catalog this year. I had my local welding supply order one for me is $80 something U.S dollars.

I didn't do any real jobs today so I did a little practice with GTAW(TIG) on some plain mold steel in a T joint.

Thanks for the info I found some check vales they are for oxygen but it worked. Now all I'm waiting on is a helium flow meter. I did try it with an argon flow meter now I know it wasn't accurate but it worked I just wasted some helium. I think aluminum welds way better with helium added the weld bea...
