All enlightening information
I too have had L5 issues, and have learned to deal
I have loved my hot tub with the therapy corner - really takes the stiffness out after a long day of very tense muscle soreness

The Y adapter is what I got, with independent regulators
Seems to work OK from what I tried at the house. Still not the same thing as a gas mixer though and I do know that )

Tried it, and I have to agree
You have to have a good grip on what you are doing before you try the blend gas tricks.
At least know what you are looking at

Re: DIY Tig Cooler and auto start/stop
When i bought my Coolermate 3, I had to put in a new radiator, a new driveshaft, a new pump, a new flow meter, and some other new stuff. Spent about 250-300 to bring it back to life. Seller on eBay whom sold it to me gave me a full refund since it was all fubar. Almost wish I built something like th...

I set mine up last month with a Y fitting for the gas lines and a regulator for each tank run into the Y
I don't have a gas meter but this seems to work OK to have an adjustable blend of helium introduced into the argon stream
No check valve here

Re: best way to blend helium to argon
Hey Steve You're right - that's a lot of gas With a gas lens and number seven cup on a CK torch doing most of my stainless I've stood at 15 CFH of shielding has for almost all of my projects - I did kick it up a couple of notches when I was playing with the FUPA cups and their wide pattern lenses Wh...

Re: best way to blend helium to argon
Hey Jim Ordered that regulator you cited from Amazon this morning When it arrives I will give it a whirl and the see how it plays out Might be a good inexpensive way to get the ball rolling on the project - if I had more gigs of this nature it would be time to look at a gas mixer ( unless the mixer ...

Re: mini grinder to sharpen tungeusten
I don't mean to be telling tales out of school but at school in the TIG program that's all we did - every tungsten was ground on the belt sander I used a $75 bench grinder to grind up my tungstens, and it worked pretty well until I left it outside in the rain one day Yes, California did have rain at...

Re: best way to blend helium to argon
Hi Steve That's kinda what I was thinking, especially since I thought I could fine tune the mix for a lighter / heavier helium content depending on what I am working with that day. That is a very good bit of information in regards to the helium in the argon regulator - I did know that the gas didn't...

Re: best way to blend helium to argon
Something that does sound attractive about having independent tanks is the ability to vary the argon to helium mix ratio - if you want less or more helium in your shielding gas you could adjust this Sounds cool - prolly the only advantage of having individual tanks ( unless I'm missing something ? )...

If I don't have a gas mixer and have two jobs to do this weekend - what would you all recommend that I use for combining the gas using a Y fitting between the two ?

I asked for that - another cylinder with mixed gas in it. Re: best way to blend helium to argon
Well thank you all for your contributions here I think I will start with the first project being attempted with a gas " Y " adapter and a bottle of each gas. See how that goes - might be able to get by on two small repairs on these floor sanders I will keep my eyes open for a gas mixer tho...

What is the most comfortable head gear for the pipeliner?
Hi Everyone Been wearing my pipeliner with the Arc One Shade 11 auto darkening lens at work the last couple of weeks Everything has been working out very well! One small problem; the head gear is as uncomfortable as it gets - I think a Ratchet Strap would be easier on my skull than the factory provi...
