Re: Single wheeled trailer for dirt bike
Sorry for the late reply. It goes over rough ground with out tipping real nice. The design is based on the "Bob" trailers the pedal bikers use for hauling stuff around. I tried my best with home made pivots etc but I really need to re do this unit with bicycle parts. Aluminum bike frame I ...

tig welding super rusty steel
I have found some cool odds and ends out in the bush that are very rusty. I kind of like the rusty look for this project as it will be kind of an arty thing. I have brushed off most of the crud and used a combo of lemon juice with baking soda and lots of wire brushing, after welding while its still ...

need to paint aluminum black

I am wondering if anyone has any tips for this. I am assuming I will need to do some kind of acid treatment or so...

Single wheeled trailer for dirt bike
This trailer will be used for pulling behind the dirt bike. Here in Canada a home built trailer can get insurance and registration easily from and insurance agent so I plan to use it for getting groceries and running errends on the street as well as offroad use. It is still a work in progress as I w...

Re: Preping Stainless Steel
Thanks Gurew.....will do! I don't have a gas lens so I will be using a #5 cup. Come to think of it I have 3 sizes 5,6 &7 but I have only used the #5. My unit shows litres per minute and I usually go about 8. Does this sound like an ok combo #5 cup and 8 lpm?
thanks wayne

Re: Preping Stainless Steel
Yes it is all new stainless steel. A freind has bought some exhaust parts for his car.Making an all new system right from motor to tail pipe. All stainless tubing except a few areas will have stainless tubing to regular steel collars. I know the stainless tubing is not magnetic but not sure what typ...

Preping Stainless Steel
First project coming up with stainless tubing. I understand the tubing should be brushed with a stainless steel brush before and after welding but I am wondering about the clean up of rough edges before that. Is it ok to sand with a 120 flap disc, clean with acetone and then clean with SS brush. I k...

2% Lanthanated in Canada
Having a hard time sourcing out 2% Lanthanated here in the Greater Vancouver area in Canada. No one seems to carry it that I can find. Looks like I should order it online so wondering if any Canadian suppliers out there that anyone knows of that ships to Canada and has the 2% lanthanated tungsten. ....

HI Joe.... I also have a Power Master 205 (same as powerpro I am told). I love my machine and can tell you what I have learned regarding your pulse question. I am new to electric welding and never tig welded till I got my machine a few months ago so I am no expert but this is my understanding of thi...

heat treating 6061 alum
I am building a single wheeled trailer to pull behind my dirt bike for hauling my kayak and things. I have recently bought a new everlast Power Master 205. I am tig welding this project and things are going ok. This will be my first Aluminum project as I have been welding with oxy/ace as a hobby for...

fifty/fifty mix
I am currently running straight argon for my tig welding. If I go with a 50/50 mix for aluminum as suggested here on this site will this mix work just as well for all other applications such as steel and other metals......thanks in advance Wayne
