This is way easier for you to do in Excel material thickness x 1000 or 1600 or 2000 or 3500 .020 x 1000 = 20 (.045) .020 x 1600 = 32 (.035) .020 x 2000 = 40 (.030) .020 x 3500 = 70 (.024) Below are excel formulas to create the colums B,C,D,E,F Material thickness in cell B4 formulas in C,D,E,F 0.020 ...

Re: Water cooled torch?

I've always had the Weldcraft and no reason to depart from them ... other than cost. I found a CK225SF for less than $110 and the Weldcrafts are nearly double. Now I need to decide if I want a flex head for an additional $30...

I wonder if there is any benefit in testing some color filters with the welding hood. Lee Filters has hundreds of filter colors, used in the film Lighting industry

Water cooled torch?

Now that I have been using my new Dynasty 200DX, I frequently find myself with the WP17 torch getting too hot to hold... Water cooled??? Well, today I got a nice Coolmate 4 for $400.... as for a torch, I have been looking at the CK Worldwide 200 series, basically the CK225SF-FX... I assume the CK fl...

Re: What is your favorite Welding Hood?

Some good info Jody. I have been using a Miller (solar) XLix helmet and when I got my Dyansty 200DX, I started having issues with flashing. You were spot-on with the DC TIG... I don't have any issues with my MIG, however I haven't used it with my new MM350P. Tough choice, I really like the auto lens...

Agreed, nothing "says" that women should not participate in discussion. But I would rather step aside than make the rest of you worry about what you say and write. Maybe that is just what is needed... there are many on the forums who should really worry about what they have said and the w...

Re: What a Wife!!!

On our 30th anniversary we rode bikes on the beach from Daytona to ponce inlet. We climbed the lighthouse and snuck champagne to the top so we could have a toast. As I looked into her eyes and sipped champagne over the bay I couldn't help but ask myself... I wonder if that handrail was welded with ...

Any chance we will see a segment on the cause and effect of different gas mixes? Like 90/10 vs 92/8 for spray or pulse or what happens if 92/8 is used for short arc vs the normal 75/25 mix?

Re: MIG upgrade opinions

Going tomorrow to look over remaining stuff... got the MM350P from a business closing... Supposed to be able to get some spools of wire and the rest is unknown... they have to be out in 2-weeks... If they have some aluminum wire, I have Argon, so I'll be able to run some aluminum beads and some Puls...

It also seems like after welding the Ts, you could then do multi-passes 2,3,4... just have a bucket of water to keep things cool!

The MM350P is here! I had to switch to 230V ... looked pretty clean inside .... once I get a steel gun... I can burn some wire... That 6/4 power cord was a bear to get the NEMA 6-50P plug on! Time to get a longer cord on it, maybe a 25ft 8/3 http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/11/4c374607361c5c7...

Re: A quick question about a rod at school

You may be doing yourself and a lot of potential welders a good thing by getting that instructor the BOOT! By all means go to the school administration and let them know you are not getting proper instruction and running short of class materials... Maybe the instructor is misappropriating money and ...

Obviously coming hear is a smart way to go since you are not getting the proper instruction in class. Sucks to get a teacher who is teaching because he doesn't have the experience, skill or knowledge to make it in the field... Keep asking questions on the forum, trying different settings and study t...

.....I noticed you said that your going to awater cooler down the road, if I welded aluminum everyday that road would be very short. You'll weld all day at 140 amps with a #20 w/c torch and not even know you're holding it, well worth the investment. Len I rarely weld aluminum, however, there are so...
