Re: Lotos plazma cutter?

Lotos is going out of business. So don't expect any support/repairs. You would do better with a harbor freight one and their 2 year optional exchange warranty. Do you have some inside information on this? I didn't see anything on the Web that would indicate they were going out of business. If it's ...

I'm not sure on the consumables . The warranty is only 1 year, which isn't that great plus I think your pay shipping both ways.

What part of Houston are you in? I'm in the Humble area. If you are close enough maybe I. Could help. I'm just learning too, but I haven't had too much problem with my aluminum welds.

Re: confused about tig filament

For most general aluminum. 4043 in1/16 or 3/32 is common depending on how thick of material you will be welding. Er70s2 for mild steel in the same size is good. Stainless will depend on what type of stainless you will be welding

Re: What to buy?

You might Check out the thermal arc (now tweeco) 3 in 1 machines... They do mig, tig, (DC only) and stick. You can also add a spool gun for aluminum.

Water cooled tig torch Coolant?

Well, I got a good deal on a coolmate 4 on craigs list, Kind of overkill for what I will use it for, but the price and condition were good. Any way, I live in Houston and hardly ever see the temps dip below freezing, but I wanted to add a little antifreeze anyway, if nothing more than to keep the pu...

Re: AHP Owners-stick welding tips/experiences?

Hello Louie1961, I have that machine, but really have not done any stick welding with it other than to just run a bead or two. However, and this may or may not apply to the AHP....the manual for my thermal arc 181i ( very thorough manual by the way..) states the the 6011 and 7014 are NOT recommended...

Well, in his defense, the manual that comes with it isn't worth the paper it is printed on. I'm contrast, the one for my thermal arc 181i is very thorough.

Re: Not happy with AHP

No offense, but I have hard time with Mr. TIG. he looses credibility with me after watching some of his videos. I just watched his video on the AHP 200X and can tell you he didn't have a clue what the start and end amp settings are used for. He talked about using it with the foot pedal and they rea...
