Re: Millermatic 211

I have been using a new one for a month now. Seems to be working as it should. I have been using .030 and have found it to be a great home welding machine. No its not a big boy but I have not come across anything it could not handle.

Re: new/old vise

Motox I can figure out a receiver on my table but I can't figure out the picture thing go figure. It is getting harder and harder to find old vises and tools like your vise. the new stuff has no soul like the old stuff.

Re: Miller 150STL foot control

I have the remote but I just was not sure on the wording of pin one and pin two. I read it, just never came through clear or I expected different. Not a big deal Thanks men. Ps I was doing 3/8 v butts with it and the roots were coming out nice.

Re: Miller 150STL foot control

Yes it appears so. I was under the impression it low amp started then controlled with the foot control. The good thing is contact starts the gas so you can get the argon flowing before the arc.

Miller 150STL foot control

It lift arc starts as it should. So I bought the miller foot control for it. But when in lift arc remote it will not start you have to push the foot control to initiate the arc. I was under the impression that it would lift arc with a five amp start up then ramp up with the foot control. Any guidanc...

Re: Setting a miller 252 for spray transfer

Pure argon will cause under cutting. The reason co2 is added, would be to help with the wetting of the weld. It gets rid of the under cutting. In reverse the argon helps the c02 not spatter etc. The literature we use states a true spray arc needs 90 percent ish argon. The argon gas accepts the elect...

Re: Setting a miller 252 for spray transfer

To get into spray arc you need a 85-90 argon gas. A c25 will not put you into a spray arc.

Re: Miller 211

It does have its limits. Really the 110 for me is to be able to do repairs at the neibours in the kennel runs etc. I also picked up a 150 stl if the 211 is not up to the task the 150 stl will 7018 all I'll need to do

Re: Miller 211

Yes it is seems to weld nice I still have to get used to .030 wire. I am finding the whip is a little different then I am used to. You have to really stay on the leading edge. More a thing with the wire then the machine. But it is very nice to do tubing with. I know it is not a big boy welder like a...

Good one it does look like something off the rock, suppose that makes me the warden . We are very proud of the shop, and work hard to make it look good and keep it clean. Before I landed this gig I worked in the steel mills, power plants, potash mines, and hung iron in the 40 below weather we get up...
