wire weld no buzz
have a centry wire welder 10 years old not used in 6 month wire feeds ok but no buzz only burns up wire , have good ground any ideas? also tried low speed wire high speed wire low heat high heat recheck ground , good gas flow 15-20 ? 6 months ago it work perfect, something change over time with no use

which welder to buy
need to replace my centruy wire welder, looking at either Hobart spoolrunner 100 vs miller 211. miller has the auto set feed but is it a gemick or bill deal? 120volt is important.
does anybody have or worked with both and have a opion ?

i was using 7018 1/8 rod welding 3/16 steel and im a low level experience. it sounds like im on the wrong rod for ac.

I have two welders, a wards 295 ac buzz box and a very large hobart tig/dc. So i fired up the ac buzz box set it about 90 amp but couldnt get a arc started because the rod would stick. electrode is neg DC, high freq - continous, arc force -7, pre flow -.3, crater fill - 6. I know the DC part but dont know the EP vis EN or how to change it. OOO i think i get it . . . is EP electrode positive and EN electrode neg?

help with hobart tigwave 250 ac/dc setings
Tried my first tig weld, didnt work. using an older hobart tigwave 250 ac/dc, welding steel 1/8, amps about 75, foot control. i get a good arc but only the tugston tip get hot then melts into a blob. the hobart has many control options so im sure ive set something wrong. any ez answers? thanks, don

the welder. now im starting to think i should buy a plasma cuter and make v plates, say 4" by 12" 3/16 thk and weld on one side of each channel v. now im weired about the v weld.

I originally thought a notch in the v leaving the bottom intack was the best way but cutting was complicated to get the right angles as my only cut options was with a power horizonal band saw so at this point i have already cut all 4 crosse Vs throught. correction, after removing the unit side panel i found the plugin line cord is only 3 conductor on a 4 pin plug (small plug pin is not used) so i have white L1 black L2 and green frame ground.
