Re: jody's ck flex lock video
I called ck on that kit and they said they do make the one from Jodies video. I was told by ck that any of there dealers can order it if you give them the part number. I'll be ordering one in a couple months once some more money comes in. If noone else posts up that they received one I will post aga...

Re: Everlast PowerTig 185 Micro Dual Voltage
Glad to hear it as well! I am trying to decide between the 185 since it would be nice to have ac or the 200t for its size and features even though its dc only. I can always use my 255ext for ac if needed.

I've never experienced that on my machine and all I've run through it is Lincoln. I am going to have to try Forney once I get all moved into my new place.

I like the tweco ones as well they seem to hold the rods really nicely from small to large. Not sure what amperage your running but I have a 150amp and a 300amp one and love them both!

Re: Everlast digital vs analog
I'm not totally sertain but the digitals have several different wave forms and some have more adjustability in pre flow and post flow as well. The 250 has a lot of options for an analog machine though. I will stick with my 255 ext though!

Re: What's everybody's favorite self shielded flux core wire
This grapply is just for a friends loader. We had another friend draw it up in autocad and sent it off to the steel place to have them cut everything for us since all we can do is freehand cut. They gave us a good deal on the cutting so we couldn't say no anyway. The plans where pretty much created ...

Are the BiMetal blades ok? My local northern tool has them otherwise I was thinking of going with a carbide blade if I could find one. I won't be runninbg fit that often. It will only be used a couple times a day on average mostlynin the summer. I wish I had more work though!

Sorry I forgot to specify the T1 is the backing plate. I was planning on using 9018 rod for that. do you think that will be fine? I've used it before for a log loader repair.

I was looking at getting one of the harborfreight 7x12in bandsaws with the hydraulic downfeed and liquid cooling. Does anybody have any opinions on them? I read a lot of reviews and moat seems to be pretty posotive about it.

Isn't the HTC 221 a chinese welder also? Not saying anything bad. I know a guy who bought one there spool guns and it seemed really heavy duty and nice. I never got to play with it though.

Re: What’s the best NEW AC-DC TIG welder for under $1,500?
I forgot to mention that those thermal arc acdc machines are pretty nice. Two of my friends bought them for there first fore into welding. I only ran it on ac tig but it was pretty decent. I didn't like the pedal much though. It seemed to have lag when you hit it and when you tried to back off. Not ...

I have a Everlast poweritig 255ext and I've been quite happy with it! It over your budget but the Everlast has a couple smaller units that are around that price. I really like the arc on mine and I would compare it any day to a dynast 200. Build quality seems to be pretty nice as well. I'm going to ...

Re: What's everybody's favorite self shielded flux core wire
I'll have to admit that I use my wire after a year or two but I only use it for non critical repairs and i keep it in a old fridge with a 100w light bulb in it to keep the temps up over 120f. I know its not a rod oven but my little 10lb ovens won't fit my 8in spools. It seems to work good for keepin...

Re: metal cutting chop saws +-
I never want to go back to a abrasive chop saw again. After a few cuts the wheel is to small to make it threw anything vary big. If your cutting anything very often or thicker material it'll still cost more with an abrasive machine due to how many wheels you'll go thru and the time it takes to buy a...

I was just trying it the other day as some practice on 1/8in aluminum doing some fillet welds. I did notice if I didn't push it in hard enough it would melt the rod back farther than I liked.
