I checked around and have been told the company went out of business and they are no longer made. I would like to get one myself so if anyone wants to get rid of one...

Re: Welding Cart

I dont put the shorter rods in them. I use one of the shelves to lay them on. Will probalby make a couple of short tubes, one for aluminum and one for steel just to hold them.

Check this thread, it has a home made "Tig Cheater" that might work for you.

Welding Cart

Here are a few pics of my modified Harbor Freight welding cart. I bought an Everlast Powertig 185 (2014 model with duel voltage, stick/tig function and dinse 35 connectors) After tinkering with it for a little while I bought the CK FlexLoc torch and am happy to say I am pleased with both the machine...

Re: Tungston Brands/Quality and Sharpening Methods

Got the 800 grit wheel and opened up the arbor to 5/8 so it would fit my 4" grinder. WOW does it leave a nice shiny tip. I'm gonna take a close look with a magnifying glass, but with the naked eye, I cant see grind marks. It's pretty smooth. Gonna sharpen a few and see how the arc looks on Alum...

Re: first welding machine

Yes please do post what happens. I have an Everlast Powertig 185, the 2014 model. It has been nothing but perfect since I got it. I did order directly from Everlast and besides after business house I have never had a problem getting ahold of them. I have even spoke to Oleg on Sunday (he called me af...

Re: Tungston Brands/Quality and Sharpening Methods

Well, no pics yet  Update on my testing. I sharpened one 3/32 tungston the same way I had been with the drill at a high speed spin, blade rotating away from the point. Then I did one the same way with the blade rotating toward the point. Then I did several with the blade rotating toward the p...

Re: Tungston Brands/Quality and Sharpening Methods

I don't have a bench grinder (will get one if I need to), so the other wheels are what I hope will be a solution. I am also going to put a router speed controler I have at the house inline with the grinder so I can slow it down a bit. I like having a flat spot to grind against vrs the curve of the f...

Re: Tungston Brands/Quality and Sharpening Methods

Thanks for the answer and the link. I have watched that video, figured I could find the wheel cheaper as well or at least one like it. I am in the process of making a mount to hold the 4" angle grinder and putting a support tab to rest the tungston agains. I'll post pics when I'm done. I am goi...

Tungston Brands/Quality and Sharpening Methods

Has anyone done a comparison on tungston quality? I can get very cheap tungston from weldingcity.com in 2% Blue (what I am liking so far). However I am wondering if it's good quality. Do the name brands have a better or more pure tungston. Any opinions on this. I am having some arc wandering issues ...

Any updates?

I bought a Powertig 185 around the same time. So far I am pleased with it. No problems and works very well.

Re: Problem Feeding Wire

I have been wanting to try out the tig pen (just because I'm a gadget guy LOL). Could not find anyone in the states that sells them. Price is shipping is a bit steep from across the pond. I did find a thread where someone made a "tig cheater" it was just some wire in the shape of a crude p...

Hoping to up my welding skills and build all manor or neat stuff.

Greetings From GA

I am new to TIG, but not too new to welding. I got my first TIG for Christmas and am very pleased with my choice. Got an Everlast Powertig 185 (may step up to a more featured unit down the road). I hobby weld and build small projects for stuff around the house and for my friends. I like to work with...
