Pipe or plate coupons
Was wondering if anyone could help me find somewhere or help me get pipe or pipe coupons to practice? I'm in highschool and since schools out I don't know where to get them and want to practice over the summer thanks

Straight CO2
I've been told to look into 100% CO2 shielding gas for mig welding was just wondering if anyone could tell me the pros and cons about it? Does the weld look good lay flat penetrait good? And is it spray or short arc?

I think Lanse goes into more of a fabricator or garage hobbiest he knows his stuff don't get me wrong but when it comes to welding information and tips(and tricks) Jody's videos are more indepth!

Haha if I could find me a dirty max for a good deal here I'd take it but this one I'm getting a good deal on. But I'm mostly looking for things to avoid, maybe designs, thickness of metal because I want it to be heavy duty but not need a crane to get it on there

Dodge bumper build
I'm about to buy a new truck(new to me) and its got the stock bumper still but a full replacement ranch hand already on it in the front was wanting to build a bumper for the back to save some money plus it would be a fun project anyone have any tips?? It's a 2002 dodge cummins 4x4

Don't know much on Acetylene but when traveling is there a certain amount of time you can have it on its side or does it have to be upright the whole time??

Well...... I welded up a horseshoe name sign reading "Shane", cleaned the horse barn out, worked on the old Ford 8n tractor all day which included some welding, chased the horses all over the county trying to get them back in the barn, and to top things off, at midnight had to help a goat...

Anytime I paint a project I just use spray cans just a coat of primer and then what ever color you want it it seems to work just fine for me

Down hill cap on pipe?
I've watched plenty of videos on YouTube and I I've always seen a down hill fill and cap on pipe? Is it just me missing something or is that actually what there doing? An if yes what kind rods are they using?

I agree you hit that nail right on the head and also something to try is just doing little circle motions it worked for me and still put in a good rootwheresmejumper wrote:1/16-1/8 works for me, just tweak the amps to suit.bigger land bigger amps.

Welcome to the forum I assume for what it is used for (115v) it'll work just fine but on a bigger machine I don't think it could hold its own
