Wind---breeze. You lost shielding. Try turning up the gas flow to 25 or so. Small machines should use CO2, not mixes.

You should use triple pass for a larger fillet or even more for a Super Fillet(think the Harlem Globetrotters)

JB weld sucks. Rough it up a little and cut a bandaid out of something beer can thick( like a beer can ;) ) Rough that up a little too, clean it all and use some 3M two part epoxy to apply the "band-aid". Put the letters in or you'll look like a dumb rucking fedneck. If you can't g...

Re: "Help" Welding a Jeep Frame
Disagreed. The sides handle down or up forces and the top-bottom plates deal with twist. It's well done.
Sure. Braking one piece may(or may not) be better.Most don't have a brake that'll handle 1/4 x 12"-16" or even 3/16.

You put 250 amps of 6011 on 1/4 inch iron it's like using a cutting stick. Turn the MIG welder up and adjust the wire speed while you weld.Read the puddle and listen to the frying. If it blows a hole ? GREAT ! Back it off a little and carry on ! Charts and numbers are bolechit. You stand out in the A...

If you want FLAT use 3" channel and don't weld the top on. Use six or eight 1/4 countersunk screws.

It basically changes ferric oxide to ferro-ferric oxide. Cold bluing and Ospho do the same thing. No need for hard core acid dips.Cut and dab a little cold blue. You'll see what you need to see.

Flux core welding is an industrial process. The greedy bass_turds at the various welding companies saw it as a way to sell inferior machines to idiots wanting something for nothing. A complete and total farce, like plated-coated drill bits.JUst stupid.
