I would love some free Optrel stuff , although the UK might be a bit too far to post to..
Been using Optrel for 10 years now , currently have 2 E680's , one of which if fitted with the e2200 respirator kit and also have a E684 , which is truly stunning

Re: some pics of6013
Unless Esab markets using different number systems around the world if it were 6013 the number would be 46.00 - rods starting 63.XX are in the austenitic stainless range & under the generic term " Almat " - maybe the numbers are different in the UK ? Esab also do a 6013 numbered OK 43...

Re: TIG machine advice
Depending on how big the 3/8 plate is in size your defiantly lacking in amps . If your welding close to the edge of the plate you may just about get it done , but if it's a large piece of material and your near the centre is going to take all the heat out of it.. This is a job i welded a couple of w...

Stainless is probably one of the most hazardous materials to plasma as it will release chromium and nickel . Your choice of mask should not be dictated by price . I have an air fed welding helmet with a grinding mode on it that is ideal for this type of work.

Re: Right or Left Hand...
About 15 years ago, a good friend and I hustled pool for sport (playing for beers, not serious money), and he had a 7' barroom table in his living room. I would go over every day when he was gone, and play against myself, right-hand versus left-, twelve games a day. Not only did I get good at left-...
