I convinced this 1972 SA200 to follow me home. Bought it from an 80yr old retired highway heavy former welder, who purchased it in 1974 and used it very little, I am pretty excited to add it to my collection of welders, and after this summer I am hoping to break out on my own with a well equipped r...

Re: welding stainless steel.
On stainless exhaust I usually use tig and a really small tig rod like .035" to .045",I find smaller wire to take much less heat than larger rods, the trade off is you have to be pretty fast with your feed hand. Oh and use argon gas for both a shield and for the purge.

What are you doing for air filtration in your garage?
Now that it is getting cold outside and I no longer want to have the windows or doors open in the garage, when I weld I get a fair amount of fumes built up in the air.
My question is what is everyone using to filter the air in your garage?
