Thanks for reply. Im trying to gather info for a friend who does a lot of on site welding and generally uses power sources that are on site. But told him to look down this route.

Suit case wire feeders with different power sources
Any chamce of using suit case wire feeders with dc engine welders ?? Maybe get JD to compare with fluxcore dual shield setup see if theres much difference in his setup and engine supply power. Chucke2009 did one but be good to have your take on the set up. Cheers.

I just can't seem to get it to work for me. No problems with a gas lenses. There was a post recently on an earlier thread about the collet restricting flow. Do you know the brand of the standard collet body that 's giving you the problem ? Have you tried another from a " name " supplier ;...

I have a question on this. I can weld aluminium with a gas lense and do ok. Now a lot of the great aluminium welders use standard ceramic lenses. Now I can't weld at all with a standard lense I have practice loads gas pressure stick out or flat to lense, frequency balance tried everything. Now I can...

Tig welding or not ??
Can someone take a look at this welding done on a YouTube video about motorcycle. It's 1 minute into the vid. Looks like tig and has tig set up but sound of weld is really odd ? Any one throw any light on to this for me. Thanks

Thanks for replys. I've got some 1050 sheet 1.5 mm thick sounds like its no good for that job then. Might have a go just to see but won't be making any tanks out of it.

Dcep aluminium. Welding ???
Hello. Jody mentioned in one video dcep welding aluminium on thin sheet. Now has anyone ever done this and what potential uses does it have. Would it be any good for small petrol tanks or water tanks.

Hello. Got another bottle of gas from a major gas suppliers and problem solved. Can't believe it but back to normal
Bigs thanks to r-tech welding got the welder picked up and checked it out for free under warranty. I did say I tried different gas but from the same place.

Hello Steve s Basically it's the same coarse as the Isle of Man Tt. The Tt is for professionals and the Manx gp is for amateurs. It's 38 miles a lap on public roads and you do 4 laps. Just sharing a little job ! I did for a mate im no expert remember. Cracked cylinder head. first time I welded it ground it out a bit preheated it and welded it with helium mix and 4047 rod. Cracked right thru weld ! Ground it right out second time and preheated again welded it everything looked ok ...

Hello the welder is back at the shop they were on with testing it when I rang at 5pm so should find out tomorrow. I sent everything back so hopefully they can test it as I was welding with it. The collet had closed up a little like I said im a hobby welder lol.

Hello im a hobby welder these are some bits I welded for my racebike one is a seat subframe one is a Ti exhaust header I modified and one is a flange. I raced the bike at the manx gp at the isle of man. Nothing broke

Contacted supplier Monday he recommended changing collet which was the only thing I hadn't tried and it was just the same. Frosty band around weld was there to start with and after couple of seconds it really narrows. So packaged it up and sending my complete package back. Fingers crossed something'...

Welding v band to cast turbo ????
Hello. Has anyone welded a v band to cast turbo outlet ? And what tig filler would you use to do it. Seen loads of pictures with it done and was wondering what the procedure would be. Pre heat etc etc

Thanks for reply. Going to contact the welding shop tomorrow welder is still under warranty. Havnt had a problem up until recently so something's gone wrong. Hoping its machine fault otherwise am screwed. I will let you know. Cheers

Hello here is my issue been welding for several months not really had a problem up until now. I weld a lot of ali and the frosty band seems to have disappeared from my arc. Its there to start with then seems to go. Now is this an arc problem or gas flow or welder in general??? Any advice greatly rec...
