Why is it always the first day new guys that want to come in and change everything to their way of thinking? We are gunsmiths who fix firearms, we just don't replace parts, therefore we must creatively weld, build-up, and heat treat metals. I thought this might be a place to learn something. Guess ...

Looks like you are doing good and are having fun. When I learned 35 years ago, we just ran 6010 until we could run it in our sleep. Made 2" Xs and filled them up in all positions. We wanted to try other processes, but the instructor told us that when we could run 6010 anywhere, we could use any...

Can we have a sub-forum for Gunsmithing

We (gunsmiths) are still using gas. Many of us have converted over to TIG, but our questions are rather specific to our work. A separate sub-forum would be helpful.
