As to the subject of soldering the cable. I have a lenco panelspotter/spotwelder. I was having trouble with inconsistant welds.I soldered the lugs on both ends of both cables and it fixed the problem. I used plenty of paste flux because the cables were dark brown with oxydation. I suppose if my concerns are correct the fauset handle would also be a shock hazard. Am I missing something here ? It would be great to be able to afford a coolmate. Thanks again for any information. Mike

If you go to Lincoln electric web site and go to the [Owners Manual] link and enter the {Code Number] of your welder.You can donload the owners manual and parts list. Its with the serial number and model number on the control panel. The link the other member gave you could be the correct Manual but ...
