Re: 6g

Weaved mine in,Stringers are easier. For the weave I bang into the Bevel always watching that weld puddle fill above the bevel, then I shoot across moving up about 1/16 in a z pattern ,My Exp has been not hanging out long enough will always leave undercut,I agree with the 80"ish Amp Range.Stringe...

Re: Tower construction

Werk Space, maybe i should have stated it a little better if you want to take more time to plaz the piece than it would take with a cutting torch okay .Normally when i reach for a plaz it is for speed and little clean up.Good vid for the machine ,cheaper to run a air compressor than to buy oxy/ace,or...

Most Plasma"s only go to 3/8 after that it"s water jet or laser or the plain old torch depends on what"s practical.

Re: Plastic Spool Broke, 33 LBs of ER70S-6

Ha,Plastic seems to be looking pretty good to me these days,Our shop right now has about 30 rolls of Radnor ER70S-6 METAL Rolls where the center cylinder has fallen out rendering the roll useless for mig,and the crib attendent says he has gotten no response from radnor on this.Chinese @#$%!

Re: welding cert

WPS ,Tells it all. Some people prefer the lower ranges on heat ,wire, some people burn at the absolute high end (on wire and heat)on the wps ,wherever comfortable. If your practicing at home or a shop you need a copy of the WPS.Then have somebody throw a volt, amp meter on your stinger, while you tune...

Re: Seeing what you're doing [mig]

George, with flux core ,i always use a regular ole' 12 shade nothing less should be able to see everything just fine.10 shade for regular hard wire nothing less.Unless your plazing,or cutting. If anybody could turn me on to a good site for the cool welding lenses that would be great!

Re: Wire for 316 Stainless

Been my exp, rule of thumb no matter what welding process arc, mig, tig,as long as the rod, wire #is higher than the material your welding you will be fine. For example 304 stainless use 308,312,316 wire or rod,as far as gas selection tri -mix is the best ,but costly we always use 98/2.
