Re: Good news from my school

I will be going for my tig aswell. My goal is allposition in all 4 and then look at more in stainless and aluminum

I actually enjoy tig the most. It's just so much more relaxing. I like how precise it is.

Re: Good news from my school

I purposely left them out. When I have to renew in 2 years all I have to do is my 4g and that automatically renews all the rest ;)
It's cheaper than renewing each seperately.

I also was limited with time at school. I only had 6 months to go from never welding before to this point.

I'm super happy!
I just got a call from the school I went to and they let me know that 2 tests that the CWB failed for lack of fusion have passed my challenge!

So I have 10 tickets as it stands.

Re: Landed a job today

Thanks everybody
It does feel pretty good happening so quick. I didn't even ask what the pay rate was. I told him I would like around 15.
As I see it anything is better than nothing and it's good experience that can go on my resume if nothing else.

All of their stuff is hard wire with 75-25.

Re: My introduction and a question

We did cover ndt and ndt but only in theory. We only did bend test in practical.

All our theory was based on the Larry Jeffus books.
All of the codes we dealt with where CWB.

Re: The what I welded today (/whenever) thread (pics please)

I have the Thermalarc 181i and have not been happy with the tig torch that comes with it. When I first set it up i had trouble getting enough argon, causing a kind of sparkler action. It seems with the diffuser supplied would not let the end cap seal. Switching to a weldcraft diffuser sorted that ou...

I used to buy tools at our version of HB called Princess Auto.
Then I realized that buy real tools at the welding supplier is alot of times cheaper.

Btw nice looking table and I like the idea of having the vice on a receiver.
