Thanks for the info......I am getting an AC Buzz box in a few days...will try the rods with that first and if not successful off to the store for a new box of 6011s....may have to look around, most of the big box stores (HD, Menards and Lowes) around here only sell Lincoln brand...maybe I will take ...

Have been practicing running some beads on 1/8" steel. Find that as I approach the edged of the steel I am burning through. Is there anyway to prevent this ? I am using 6013 rods at 65 amps. Thanks...Rickzzz

I see most of you have your own preference for the brand of electrodes that you use. I was wondering...is there that much difference in the major brands of rods for same rod numbers...? One of the tips for MIG welding is to make sure your contact tip is flush or slightly protruding. Does this hold true for either gas and flux core....? Thanks....Rickzzz (novice welder)
