Re: Ground hooked up to a neutral?

What Make and Model of welder? I use red and black for my hot wires, green for safety, white not used. http://www.do-it-yourself-help.com/images/50amp_receptacle.gif I recently put a 220 dryer plug on my AC stick welder and it keeps tripping the breaker. The dryer (and stove) receptical is a 3 prong...

Re: I need help troubleshooting my everlasting powetig 250ex

If you disconnect the Tig torch, does the same thing happen? It sounds like a short circuit. I found the manual online. If it doesn't help, give Duncan or Jean a call 905-637-1637. http://www.everlastgenerators.com/sites/everlastgenerators/files/downloads/PowerTIG%20250EX%202016.pdf EVERLAST WELDERS...

Though should not ASS U ME... (These are recently acquired toys.) I'm going to need some time to put this project in motion. My Mass Spectrometer is a Varian 1200. Re: Cool Stuff You Gotta Have

Very nice grinding wheel! I would almost want one, but belt sanders rule... It reminds me of when I bought a 1" X 30" belt sander on sale for $70. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, and it turns out to be a most used tool. I've bought all sorts of different grit belts and even a...

Painting is easy... just ask Mr. Bean! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9MAmWnOznI I will admit to one thing. I would mug crack dealers before I would paint a living room with a roller and brush. I don't blame you there. I came to hate it, and I don't toss about words like "love" and...

Re: What can MIG do that TIG cant do?

TIG can weld the same metals as MIG. The difference is that TIG is slower and more precise. not to mention welding extremely thin materials in the hands of a skilled welder I have welded aluminium flashing and once did soda cans but i have seen a guy weld a gum wrapper  (steadiest hands i eve...

Re: Newby Question. Should I learn all 3 at once?

I use distilled water. Think of it this way... there's mineral wool inside the torch. Tap water can be used, but eventually the left over deposits would plug up the mineral wool. When I first got my plasma torch, I just had to tear it apart to find out how it works. The torch has an adjustable arc b...

Re: What can MIG do that TIG cant do?

MIG is mostly for production work, were you need to weld lots of material in a hurry. If you want to weld more exotic metals like titanium, you would choose TIG for it's better heat control and precision. G'day everyone, Im at work and day dreaming about welding like usual these days haha.. A questi...

Tom, I live near Calgary. If you are curious, I could show you what it's all about. I don't sell them. My friend Garnet bought one up in Didsbury. I was impressed enough, that I bought one for myself. One of the Pro's is that there are no compressed gases to deal with. It uses water as a fuel, so th...

Re: Newby Question. Should I learn all 3 at once?

I have many welders, one of my favorites is a bit unusual. It uses water as a fuel. I use it mostly on mild steel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf0VA83suYM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaU4M0seOTc Id love to do Oxy/Fuel welding but the course im doing doesnt offer it. I dont have any need to g...
